Rem 722 with a takeoff 243 Rem varmint barrel. Suggestions on bullet/powder/primer combinations for bullets in the 55 to 105 range?

I had great luck with 58g VLCs and IMR 4064 with BR2s until they quit making the VLCs. I have not tried the varminators but suspect they are pretty close to being the same bullet.

My .243 does well with:

55 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip, 45.0 gr Varget, 3730 fps.

87 gr Hornady SP, 38.5 gr Varget, 3130 fps.

100 gr Hornady BTSP, 41.0 gr IMR4350, 2900 fps.

Varmint load is 55g NBT, 53g H-380, R-P case, Fed 210, accuracy is .75" @100 yards, velocity is 4100fps...

Deer load is 100g SBT, 43.5g IMR-4831, R-P case, CCI BR-2, accuracy is .5" at 100 yards, and gave .5 MOA @ 300 and 500 yards as well.

Definately start low on that 53g/H380 load, Its a full case of powder, I dont even weigh the charge, just scoop powder in the case untill its full and level it off the top and seat a bullet...H380 is pretty tempermental through my experience...

Your 55g load looks hot to me just judging from the velocity. That is 243AI or 6mm country. I didn't look up the max load for H380 but I hope you are at least using weighed cases with known similar volumes with you scoop and shoot trick.

Well I got my load data staright from the Nosler book, so you can believe what you want...

They call for 53g of H380 which is good for 4069fps w/24" bbl. So not all out of wack as you might think...I've shot and cronographed this load for years out of my moms little Ruger and I get between 4000-4100fps..

I cant even fit 53g of powder in the .243 cases, which is why I dont even weight the charge, just scoop full, level off at the top and seat a bullet, works for me....Aint even a MAX load...

Have 95 rounds loaded with a variety of 70, 87, & 105 grain bullets. Will post when range time happens.

47gr varget, win brass, rem 9.5 primer, 55gr sierra blitzking, 4000fps (45gr is book max)

40gr varget, 87gr vmax, 3250fps (38 is book max)
