.243 cal. 105 A-Max

H 4350 and 3300'/sec. But that is in a 6 Long Dasher. Slightly smaller case, but seems more efficient. 41 grns powder, bullet jammed .020, cci small rifle magnum primer............1 grn under maximum in my gun. 26" barrel.

I have only tested for max charge/velocity, I don't know anything about accuracy in this gun yet.

Currently fireforming brass with 39 grns of said powder and same bullet/primer.

In Theory, you should be ok starting with 39 grns of this powder in the .243 because of the larger capacity. But do so at own risk. On the powder can it shows 40 grns of 4350 with a 100 grn bullet to be max in the 243.

Good luck:)

I know this post is a little old but, I called Hornady today and he suggested for the 243, 105 A Max: RL 22 max load was 45.3. 3,000 fps.
I am just starting my load development in my VSSF 243. I shot it yesterday and I was only using 42.0 grs of RL22 according to the Lyman book. Velocity was only 2760. 5 shot group was less than 3/8. First three were almost in the same hole. I'm thinking my chrono battery needs to be changed. I hope i don't have a cold barrel.
Any one else with any load data for the 243 using 87gr Vmax or 105 AMax?

105 amax,Lapua brass ,210m primer ,47.5gr n165 for 3025 in a 22inch barrel.Shooting very well even with the slow 1-10 twist.Nearly gave up on them though as they shot like crap with other combinations and charge weights.

oh ya i love this set up. im shooting .243 win win brass 49.5 gr of retumbo 105 amax .oo5 from rifling running at 3075 fps. it is on the hot side but my rifle loves it. i have killed 3 deer 2 antelope 1 elk and a few coyotes with this load alone

I normally shoot the 105 Amax at 3000fps out of my 6/250AI, but I know it will do almost 3200fps (hot!). My chamber is cut for those bullets as well as the 117 Sierras; which means the over all length is pretty long. With a normal chamber your bullet will be well into the case body, so you have to take that into mind. According to the Hornaday manual, 3000fps is about it, but that also seems a little slow to me. I'd think 3200fps would be about it. Yet in most of the manuals that give an accuracey load. I think I'd try something like 45.5 grains of MagPro with the bullet seated .005" off the lands as a starter.

I'm shooting 42.3 grs of Re 17, at 3070 fps from a 25" 8 twist krieger, 243 winchester with a long throat for the 105 amax. I've tried H4350-4831sc, RE-25 couldn't get the speeds that I've seen claimed. The RE-17 is a very accurate load so I will keep it. I might experiment with H-1000 next, however my 243 Catbird is almost done and I'm sure I'll get all the speed I need from that round. gun)

I am using IMR 4350. I'm getting just under 3000fps out of my savage 12fv with a 26 in barrel. Primers are still very round with no crater. I could definitely go up but i see no need.
