I purchased a .224 Bartlein blank, 8" twist. I am having it chambered in .223 Remington. I want to shoot 50-77 grain bullets. Trainer rifle I can also shoot varmint/prairie dogs.
Anyone done this use case?
What freebore have you used?
I need to make a decision fairly soon for the smith.

I don't think you can choose a freebore that would satisfy that span of bullet weight. Since you have a fast twist barrel I would suggest narrowing down the bullet weight to be used.

I am using a Wylde chamber from PVA for everything on one of their 1-7 barrels. Prob giving up some grouping ability on the light end but I haven't tried much in the tight twist category outside of short AR's.
Playing with bolt guns these days and trying for a trainer that crosses over on varmints.

Try tightening parameters…

What are you having good luck with for 50-60g bullets?
Same question 65-77g bullets?
