223 ackley

Mine was no problem. I've fire formed factory ammo in mine just fine and also fire formed handloads using the load I developed for the AI.
Later on I acquired a substantial amount of 5.56 ammo made by Norma in the 1970's that cannot be fired in my other bolt 223's but fireform beautifully in the AI. And they shoot well too...

I have a slow twist barrel (factory Rem) and found that 27.3g of AA2230 using Win brass and the Sierra 52g match bullet and Rem 7 1/2 BR Primers gave me great accuracy. Have never got around to chronographing it yet, though.

Ive heard some good reports from lads over here using 52 gr match bullets may just give them a go just dont know how the 1 in 14 would handle them, ive also heard that some use upto 60 gr bullets in 1 in 14 thanx for the reply stormrider

Het Rifleshooter,
I knew that I had seen that 223AI somewhere before, nice piece of kit.

I am trying 52 Bergers at the moment and the group size almost halved over 40 VMax's without any load development so I might be on to somthing?

Steve
