Thanks everyone for sharing your 223 Rem info. This got me to thinking what about a 222 Rem but with 8 or 7.5 twist barrel and around .200 long throat for long 224 bullets. If a 222 is at same pressures as 223 should be able to get close to 223 performance
with less powder. Less powder burned in suppressor is usually queiter. Shown is Berger 80 VLD and 80 AMax with 223 Rem case for comparison. Anyone ever done this?

It could be a great little cartridge for saving powder for sure.

Depending on what you want it to do?

I sort of like the idea of just a plain old .22/250AI with a fast twist 1:7 or 8

Probably twice the powder but think it will give more energy down range.

The triple duece is a sentimental favorite of mine, I have several. I don't have it on a long range platform, most of mine are older rifles out of the sixties. All of them shoot. Before the PPC came along it was a hot BR number. If you build it I hope share the journey.
