My favorite gray beard, GunBlue, has an interesting episode on his channel discussing the .222 Remington. He goes through its history and discusses its relevance today. In it he states the the Triple Deuce is still the most accurate 300 yards and under cartridge today.

Is it?

Verifiably, it is not. The .222 was beat out by the .30 Stewart back in '13.

It is a fantastic little round, it still produces tiny little groups in a tuned BR rifle.
Unfortunately it has been bested by more modern case designs, but will still hold it's own.
I really like mine in a Sako L461 Vixen, very accurate little rifle.

Cheers.
