A few years ago I bought a new all stainless Remington 700 Mountain Rifle in 30-06. This had the short 22" light contour barrel. I decided to make a open-sight stalking rifle out of it so I had gunsmith add a nice banded front sight and coat the whole rifle and barrel matte black. With this barrel and a nice Williams peep sight the rifle shot better than my old eyes. I have since rebarreled this rifle and will sell the coated, original barrel and front sight (rear peep not included).
