22-250AI 6x284 throat erosion

I have both the above calibers. 6x284 has a Hart varmint 26" 10" twist BBL with about 750 rnds through it. the 22-250AI has a Mike Rock Cut rifled 5R 8" twist BBL( Sporter weight BBL) with less then 500 rnds through it including fire forming. Both have throat erosion. The 6x284 still produces less then 1/2MOA and the 22-250AI produces 3/4. So if these BBLs are shot out I have no complaints.... Is the 22-250AI a faster BBL burner then the 6x284?

I have a 22-250 Ackley and it has over 1000 rounds through it and still shoots ijn the 1/2 MOA range with 75-80gr bullets but I have chased the throat out a good ways , accuracy with the 55gr bullets has gone from sub 1/2moa to around 3/4 moa. I run this gun hot , only getting around 3 reloads from match prepped fire formed brass , if i backed down say 300 fps then I'm sure I would get alot better barrel life.

I don't have any experiance with the 6x284 but I'm sure that if your pushing it hard it won't last , they are both badly overbore capacity and it take a good bit more powder to make a slight increase in speed .

I own both and without hesitation the 6x284 is a worse barrel burner. I have burned up 2 6x284 barrels and my 22-250AI's are still O.K.
My first barrel was a 1-10" twist what a waste, to make this cartridge work you need a 1-8" or 1-9" twist barrel so you can shoot the heavy VLD's
With a 1-10" twist shooting medium weight bullet's you give up next to nothing in velocity going to a smaller case, but gain significant barrel life (unless your moniker is Wildcat).

Which one is the waste?

Ok do you mean the 10"twist on the 6x284 is a waste? That's what I have and I can't shoot the Berger 95gr VLD. Or is that a 10 twist on the 22-250 AI?
