208Amax velocity

I have a browining x bolt 26" barrel 300wm when i chrono 208Amax with 76.5 H1000 it reads 3100fps, no hard bolt lifts, or preasure signs, is my chrono on crack or any one else getting these velocities.

something is up with your chrono, that load, depending on seating depth should run no faster than 2900. in my practices thats a mild load, ive used that much 4831sc.

Somethings up with the Chrono? I couldn't get to 3000 with my 300WM at 78gr of H1000. Now a 300RUM with 92gr of H1000 spits out the barrel at 3140fps.

Seems a little fast, I can push the 208's at 3220 in my RUM with a 30" tube and 93.3 grs Retumbo, But who knows, I've seen crazy things, watched what seemed to be two identical rem VS's in 223 shooting the same handloads at a 150 fps difference over the same chrony same day. Only thing i could come up with was maybe tighter chamber or tube creating higher pressure but both fired cases showed no signs,

I have another 300 in remington 700 5 r same load it shoots 2970 same chrono . Try explain that one

That's why I said something is up with your chrono because your 5R should be faster than your 6 groove X bolt.

Not so much the number of lands and grooves but the design of them.

I think your chrono is high. I have a 28" tube and push 76.5 gr oh H1000 with BR2 Primers and I am at a tick under 2900 FPS.

I don't know about that.... If it is wrong consistently the same EI always 100 FPS off. I would worry about it just adjust data as needed. Or send it in to have it calibrated.
