Just completed my hunt in the foothills of the Bighorns, Wyoming. Spotted a particularly nice atypical whitetail early in the well and decided to stay stuck with him for a shot. Took a position on a bluff about 700 yards from what appeared to be his home turf, a thickly covered creek bottom bordering a large open field. One the third day, I lucked out and he presented a clean 654 yard shot with a 10 o'clock 5-10 mph wind. The 142 JLK from my 6.5x284 Cooper performed superbly (as usual), taking out the top of his heart and a good portion of his lungs with full penetration and massive internal damage.
