Though the Long Range goes "hot" at 8:00am you may come earlier to set up your equipment and to register.
You may come later or leave earlier, you do not have to stay for the entire time.

All other ranges will be closed at least until 1:30 PM or until Range items are broken down and secured. Closure signs and red "hot range" wind / signal flags will be removed as signs of completion.
TARGET SIZES -Various reactive steel target sizes are used to simulate the size scoring rings of popular NRA, CMP, and Benchrest rifle competitions, and also duplicate the average size of the body / vital areas on several types of large, medium, and small game animals so that a shooter can properly range the target and execute the shot with instant feedback of their success (18" to 3"). A "Zombie Silhouette" target is used, 8" head 16X18" torso. Target Sizes and what they represent are listed on the FSC website.
POSITIONS / DISTANCES:Long Range Day (LRD) at FSC consists of 3 different distances: 200M (or 220Y), 300M (or 330Y), and 385M (or 420Y) with several different sized steel targets along with optional paper targets to shoot at. Firing positions and what targets to shoot at are outlined in more detail on the FSC website. Be aware that if it appears that there are shooters waiting or a backlog, it is possible thata timed rotation of 10 to 15 minutes will be called to prevent "bench hogging". The goal is to reduce waiting times and to allow as many shooters as possible the oppurtunity to take full advantage of LRD.
2 COURSES OF FIRE - Once you pick either the Bench or Tactical Marksman course stay on the targets used in your course as the remaining ones are being used in a different course. Separate scorecards / COF handouts for the different matches will be available and distributed at registration, or can be viewed on the FSC website.
BENCH / PLINKER SHOOTERS - There will be benches for those that do not desire to shoot the tactical course and just wants to site in their firearms and range the distances. Targets to use will be on the RIGHT SIDE of the berm.
LRD TACTICAL MARKSMAN COURSE-(A complete listing of COF & rules on the FSC website). MIN. of 22 rounds (1st shot hits on racks + barricade), MAX. of 40 rounds. The COF allows for promoting 1st round hits and marksmanship using unused rounds at the end of the course for bonus points. There is also a "Second Chance" rule so that newcomers will not feel intimidated by more experienced shooters. Targets to use will be on the LEFT SIDE of the berm.
In addition to shooting a rack of targets, at least 1 barricade will be placed on the firing line at any of the distances and will be changed to a different distance every month to make 4 stages. The designated target sizes to be shot from the barricade: 8" at 200M / 220Y, 12" at 300M / 330Y, 18" at 385M / 425Y. 1 shot only from the standing, kneeling, sitting, and unsupported prone positions from the barricade. One of those positions to be shot from the support (weak) side, shooters option on what position they choose to shoot support side for a total of 4 attempts being shot from BEHIND cover. "Second chance" rule does not apply when shooting a barricaded stage. Only aid to be used from the barricade is a sling or you may use the barricade itself for support. Each hit is worth 20 points from the barricade, regardless of distance or target size.
TIES - in the event of a points tie, the unused round count will be used for the tie breaker. If that still results in a tie, the higher number ofhead hits on 385M Zombie silhouette will be used.
ALTERNATE / SHARING POSITIONS ON THE FIRING LINE -There will be dedicated benches and open areas for Bench and Tactical courses, along with a few "alternate" areas to use for either the Bench or Tactical course's overflow, or for positional shooting. These alternate positons will use the berm's CENTER targets. There is usually only enough room on the firing line to support 9 shooters at a time, but 12 shooters or more can be on the line in the alternate positions if multiple shooters agree to share the targets in these alternate areas.
