I was wondering if anyone has tried using a barrel length closer to the 19-20 inch length for a slug gun?

The reason I ask is just the convenience of carry. For example I saw a coach gun and it is really handy, although I am thinking more 20 gauge size.

It isn't clear to me if a semiauto would cycle properly with a shortened barrel or not.

Thanks

I cut off my muzzle brake on a rifled Hastings barrel making it about 19inches. Shoots. 3 inch groups with most slugs cantilever scope mount you want it? $100 For a Rem 870 3"

I was thinking about a Benelli but am open minded. Since it is for hogs, reliability is important, and only 3 cartridges are allowed.

Crazy enough, no side arm is allowed as a backup.

They make tactical shotguns with 18.5 inch barrels I see why not. Send them a email and see if they have anything special going on with the tactical series.
