I have a like new Remington Model Seven in .17. What a great little caliber. I haven't shot it in 20 years but just cant bring myself to sell it.

Get a .223 and rebarrel it. Prob looking $4-450 for a good barrel and then labor to install it, unless you can do yourself. A savage would work great.
Ammo is 'spensive, like $2.25-2.75/rd unless you reload.

Just picked this up today for a 17 Rem conversion…got it dirt cheap on the used rack at my local shop.
