140 gr ECX for 6.5-300 Weatherby

I'm wondering if anyone has tried loading the Hornady 140 gr ECX in a 6.5-300 Weatherby mag?

I'm just starting to reload my 6.5-300 and love using monolith bullets in it as it's got more than enough speed and power to make the 127 LRX above its weight class. It's worked wonderfully on 3 whitetail, a black bear, and a mountain goat in the past calendar year where I've only had a bit of time to hunt between moving provinces. I'm just looking to increase my weight and sectional density for moose later this season and the potential problem grizzly where I live now in northern BC. Has anyone tried loading it for the 6.5-300?

Realize that the 6.5x300 Weatherby was at one time the most famous and most popular long range cartridge on the planet.
And part of the reason was that there was a very good 6.5 139 gr match grade bullet produced by Norma in about 1950.
The bullet was also illegal to use in the state of PA, where at the time much of the long range hunting was taking place with the 6.5x300 cartridge.
Reason being that it had a jacket that was attracted to a magnet. That law is still in effect there today.
The answer to the question hasent changed.
Where you hit them counts more than what you hit them with.
And at long range especially, just hitting them is the first priority.
Which is why cartridges like the 6.5x300 WBY. are seldom used anymore by long range hunters.

Absolutely true, and thankfully mine has been a tack driver out to 350 yards so far (no close range so the farm only goes out to 350). So I truly believe in "Where you hit them counts more than what you hit them with."

But I'm interested in the 140 gr ECX because of its sectional density for the larger animals in a 'just in case' situation. I guess knowing guys that have killed moose and elk with a 6.5 Creedmoor and the 127 LRX should give me confidence, but that was Canada moose not the Alaska/Yukon subspecies I'll be after.

Has anyone had any experience with it? Let alone in a 6.5-300?
