If you haven't figured it out I'm talking about 130 Grain Quarter Bores. What Case Capacity makes the best all around Hunter? Although I'm not yet willing to get locked into this narrow Caliber selection this makes good research.

You mean between the 133 Elite and 135 LT Hyb?

For banging steel with good barrel life but still be plenty to hunt with out to 700-800ish, a 25CM is hard to beat. If you want to be different,.250-3000AI, .257 Roberts AI, or 25x47L.

Strictly a hunting rifle, .25-06 Rem, .25-06AI, 25SST, 25SAUM, 25PRC, .257 Wby Mag.

I own two 25CMs (1 for steel, 1 for hunting) Had a .250-3000AI for years too.

For hunting, I also own a 25SST, and had a .25-06AI for 11 years.

I've so far done 25-06, 25 creedmoor, and 25-284. Now I only have the 25 creedmoor. The 135gr Berger at 2950fps to me is a perfect balance. You can squeeze more velocity from a larger case, but you're getting more recoil, less barrel life, (in my experience) a more finicky tune. I have killed out to 670 with the 25 creedmoor and it has plenty of OOMPH at that distance. Much farther is out of my personal shooting ability, so the extra velocity from a larger case is pointless for me.

Lots to consider and probably no bad choices..but look hard at the creedmoor case.
