12 year olds first elk

This was my sons first elk taken this year in Wyoming. First shot was a lung shot at 150 yards. Bull ran to 320 yards where he put a 2nd shot into the shoulder and put him down in his tracks.
The gun is built by Eben Brown E. Arthur Brown Company - Home Page chambered in 6.5 BRM.
Basically a 30/30 necked down to 6.5 with the shoulder blown out.

Awesome! Tell your son congratulations on a great elk.

I like seeing kids getting an early start in hunting/shooting. I'd say you've got a shooting buddy for a loooooong time.
