Took my 10 year old to Texas to shoot axis deer. He got this guy at 80 yards with a 117 grain shock hammer. The big hole was the entrance. Put the animal right down. We could smell a bit of gut shot smell before we opened him up. Likely one of those pedals shot backward. No mess in the guts cleaning him but we didn't look too close. Some bloodshot are the entrance. Very little at the exit. Overall quite happy with the results both on speed of kill as well as the appropriate about of damage to internal organs and minimal meat loss. I probably would use regular hammer hunters for larger or thicker skinned animals but this was perfect for whitetail and smaller sized animals.

Meant to attach these pictures.
