Re: Iornworker, mind sharing your load?
He'll be back, but till then here's some info.
keithcandler : hope you are talking 270wsm.
For me the 110s are shooting very well also.
Much less distance between the land contact point and
the tip of the bullet than heavier ones.
COL is shorter than my 140/150 NosBT jam distance by .180 !!!
and .140 less than the 150gr Hornady SST-z.
my rifle seems to like a little lowwer loads (pressure)
, at about 1/3 up from bottom loads sometimes starts to see signs.
Here are the ones i've tried.
Rifle shows a little better for pressure now than when it was new.
It has smoothed out a little, leaded the buttstock.
imr4350 (high/low) 66/56 from one source 64max from anotter
started at 61gr .. too hot went to 60.5 ok
RL-19 71/62
started @ 64 .. wasn't sure
went to 63.7 ok
dropped to 63.5
could probably go back up now, haven't tried.
this one spread laterally 1 1/2 in initially for me
haven't rechecked since rifle improvements.
imr 7828 no data avail for 110
don't know if this is the best powder for 110s
speeds looked good for 130s, gave it a try
130gr 65 and 68 max refs found
110 67 start .020 off lands.. too hot maybe
went to 66.7 br2 good
now 7828 67gr. cci250m col 2.675 .. .045 off lands
Same COL as I started, but lands were .020 closer then.
necked down ww 300 brass, burnished inside primer bell to wall burrs.
I can't shoot these any more @ 100 yards cuz they are grouping so small
it's hard to tell what they're really doing (in the .4s). Only at 200 yards+ for these.
No crony, no fps, Im guessing low 3300s, might be less.
Let me know if you want the target pic posted here.
kinda looks like this though "
Hope this helps
