10year olds first hunt/rifle/ suppressed?

I went with the 7mm-08 youth in a Ruger American. I load 120gr TTSX. My boys have killed around 20 deer with this set up. I believe if you added how far all those deer ran together it would be less than 50 yds.

My 6'1" 180lb, 15yr old still tries to take that rifle.

We spot and stalk a lot so it has been a good, cheap, and accurate option to beat the crap out of. Over all, I'm not a huge fan of the RA, but it definitly gets the job done.

Ours isn't threaded, but I think they have options for that.

I love 300BLK but it wouldn't be 1st my hunting choice.

Ok so here is what I have done . Savage axis in the 6.5 cm . Then put the Boyds At one stock which is adjustable lop. Did a trigger job. That way he can grow into the stock . I have done the Ruger American with the treaded barrel is a good idea also I have done them also. Here in Pa you can't use a semi auto rifle for big game so it has to be a bolt or single shot firearm. Good luck happy hunting

If you reload, use lighter bullets for practice, reduce the load. sight in then for a hunting load just before the hunt

Another thing I've done for new hunters if possible is have them dry fire on deer a few times before loading the rifle. I made my rifle comments earlier. Good thread.

She started with some of these at 8 yrs old.

R700 6 Dasher now has Manners Compact Stock. Run a DA Nomad LT.
(It started life as a 7mm-08 but I wanted something with less recoil and more efficiency/economic to shoot).

Manners Compact Stock for R700 I have 3 of these on rifles for her now.

Wilson Combat 300 Hamr w/ Bowers Vers 375 Suppressor

R700 LTR 308 w/ DA Nomad LT Suppressor. I had it in a manners compact stock and down loaded it to a 300 hamr.

Same WC 300 Hamr Vers 375 Suppressor

Scope camera I put on the scopes so I can watch what she is aiming at live on my phone.

CZ 457 Scout Youth 22lr. I have multiple rimfire suppressors

CVA Scout V2 350 Legend Vers 375 Suppressor. It has a folding ar stock on it now to shorten the LOP

Currently have a 458 Socom being build on a R700 action. Will be used for woods hunting using subsonic 500gr maker bullets and my Bushwhacker 46 suppressor in a manner compact stock.

Also have a 300 hamr being built on a R700 action. Will have manners compact stock and will use either my Nomad L or Nomad LT.

Side note: I hunt with a completely factory R700 adl 30/06 that cost $280 with a scope when I got it lol.

Built my boys a 6.5 Grendel bolt gun on an Impact Precision action with an 18" Bartlein carbon barrel. With a Griffin Sportsman Titanium suppressor and scope it's still under 9lbs which is fine for stand hunting. My 7yr old shoots it and has almost no recoil. Sent the stock to Manners to have it cut down to 12.5" LOP with their adjustable spacer system so I can add length as he grows.

Tactacam camera with their FTS (Film Through Scope Mount).

We were on doe patrol so it comes in handy to be able to see what my 9yr old was aiming at.
