savage model 99 accuracy

Does anyone have any tips for accurizing a savage model 99? I have a 308 and 250-3000, both with the brass rotary magazine. The triggers are kind of poor, shots will string, but they’re heirlooms so I’m wondering if there’s any tips that can help accuracy?
