  • Wlfdg,

Thanks for volunteering to answer questions on physical fitness. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Here is my situation.

Mt goat hunt 1 Nov 2107. Max elevation 5000' but it can be pretty steep.

I have been training for specifically for this hunt for the last 2 years. After reading your previous thread it appears that I could use some advise.
I lift 4-5 days a week. Spend 20-30 minutes on the stair master with ankle weights as often as I can. I also run 2-3 miles 4 days a week. I get a little pack training in with 50lbs. We don't have a lot of vertical terrain though.
I feel I'm in pretty good shape for my age but I'm always looking to improve. I took away some good pointers from your post especially about rest.
I feel from talking with hunters who have been on this hunt that legs and lungs are going to be tasked the most. Since I don't have a lot of terrain to work with, what would you recommend as the best regiment to prepare?
    Thanks
    Sam
