How many grains of H-1000? And how long is your barrel? 1-8" twist?
26" bbl specifically throated to shoot the 195. 1-8.4 twist. Work up your powder loads slowly, sorry, but each rifle is different this load is right on the top edge of what my rifle likes.

..none of the above, the plain Jane ho-hum boring 7mm rem mag will handle all your needs for life with little worry and anxiety compared to all of the above...for 100fps, no thanks.
Haven't pulled the trigger yet (pun intend) as making sure i can find all necessary supplies. I wouldn't mind having a 4"+ mag, just knowing what works with what (actions, mags and stocks) for a build I'll do myself. 3.850" is an easy button on parts for me. AGAIN, I don't hunt for those just getting here. I like a challenge and learning experience as I've built many upon many AR's and now getting into ba's. If finding actions, mags and stocks/chassis for 4"+, I'd go stw, rumor any other case long like them. For the 3.850 with 195eol's (or 197smk), I'm leaning towards 7rm or 28n case lengths? When i see load data on the stw and rum with 195's I know they'll be seated deep due to mag restrictions.

Hahaa its wierd how that happens sometimes. As far as mag lengths and not being a hunter, would single feed be an option?
no thanks! i like everything that has capacity of more than 5 (seldom have anything with 3 or 4), but 8-25 is gtg. with apf selling ar's in the nosler magnum family gets me close to what i'd want using a single stack mag (only 5 rounds), but not knowing what oal would be keeps me on the not buying list. i favor semi-autos, but like shooting ba's once in awhile. having 6 kids and all have their favorites keeps me going on newer stuff. wife isn't a firearm lover, but does want to know how to use 1 if needed. been married just over 30 years now and she still hasn't shot even 1 firearm. just hadn't had much time. i'm behind on reloading, load developments and finishing up new builds (about 10 behind so far on building). load developments are way further behind (20 or more). there was a guy hunting a couple or 3 years ago from georgia shooting a 7stw and a 7-6.5prc (might've been the wife's).
