What snow tires?

Michelin mud and snow tires, we did the Artic Ocean twice, once on the Dalton HWY (2022) with our camper and the next time up the Dempster HWY with our trailer in (2024) with some 'very rough' roads, and the Michelins worked great, we were very surprised that we never got a flat, after both trip over 7500 miles each, we did have to replace our windshield on our F-350 Super Duty diesel on our return... each time! 🤬 Cheers

436……envious of your trips! We were gonna do the ALCAN, about the time COVID shut down the world!

Maybe we'll try again after Canada becomes the 51st! 😉 memtb
You are welcome to come visit but we are never going to be the 51 st. We also don't think that is funny in any way. I am for Alberta separating but we can stand on our own just fine, thank you very much.

Don't call me a Karen for being offended by the arrogance you are displaying. I generally like Americans and I enjoy visiting the States but if I wanted to be an American I could have moved there years ago. You would be just as ****ed if we made dumb comments about you becoming the 11th.

No....we'd just read it, chuckle, and move on without getting our knickers all twisted up.
Heard Trump already had a new name picked out for your homeland.

mentb,
If you get a chance don't pass it up, it's not an easy trip, the last one especially at our age late 70s... but it's fun, we met some great folks from both the US and Canada there and back, and some beautiful country on this type of trip... Take a shotgun with some good Bear slugs, and be sure to hit Dawson City, Yukon, and Chicken, Alaska they are a hoot!! Hope you make it... 🤙 🫡 Cheers

Come on, 🙂😉 Canada has some great people in it, I've been all over it, and I'm sure we can all get along... besides, I don't see any statehood anytime soon.. well, perhaps Alberta "eh". 😂 🫡 Cheers.

I have been running Duratracs on 2500s since they came out. Their predecessor were similar Goodyear pattern that I don't recall their name. Have tried a few others, keep going back to the Duratracs. They typically last about 50 to 60 thousand miles. I tend to change them out when they still have about 30 percent tread left as I want the heavy lugs for the sticky clay mud and deep snow we have here. If you look on Tire rack they have extensive info on Duratrac over millions of miles as they are heavily used in the oil patch and offroad industries.

The latest itteration are quieter with excellent wet pavement traction amd are also very good on ice. Much better than the first models were.

This is jus MY opinion, but my guess is that the people who give the Duratrac high marks for winter driving have never tried a true WINTER TIRE. I sell Goodyear, and sell a pile of Duratracs...the farmers LOVE them. They are tough, good in the mud, and last if you keep care of them. Also, they are good in DEEP snow. I drive pickups all the time with Duratrac's and they aren't even close to a true snow tire on the typical winter road conditions (packed snow, white ice, black ice. etc...) and are about equal in deep snow. If your goal is driving through deep snow in the mountians, than the Duratrac is your tire, but not for everyday winter driving. Also, they are noisy on the highway, but so are my studded winter tires.....that is a wash.
