Alliant powder shortage

Basically a hail marry powder grab, with some educated people to let me know what's a flop and what works
I suggest not limiting yourself to Alliant.
I do not know what I will be loading for in future, so asking for advice.
Start with the chamberings you currently have.
Thank you, these are the opinions I'm looking for!
Then, as noted in #10, you need to be more specific about chambering and bullets. I have been using RL-17 and 215 Berger in my 300 WSM for over 10 years.

I'm not asking for what I have, but what I might have

I hate to do it because I've used them since 7 was one of the first available but I find myself transitioning to less expensive options. Specifically Ramshot.

I'm sure everyone is aware of alliant only fulfilling military orders, Im sure this will make finding alliant powders harder and harder to find.

What are the top used powders?
Not sure about "the top used powders", but I use a lot of Alliant/Hercules powders - past, present and future.
Bullseye, Red Dot, Green Dot, Unique, Herco, Blue Dot, 2400, Power Pistol, and then many of their rifle powders. Fortunately, I have a fairly large supply, so at my age, I am set for the rest of my life.

I was the weird one that stocked up on primers a $20 a brick when they said that was a crazy price!!

And Here we are!!!

MAGA
I actually still have a few thousand primers I purchased at 69.95 per 5k sleeve back in the 90's. and a couple of thousand I purchased for under $10 per 1k. In those days, we were buying primers by the tens of thousands per order, so some older ones stayed on the back of the shelves.

I think the last primers I purchased were $119 per 5k, and I purchased 50k then. (Correction - I paid $139/5k. Old age an all )

Pretty similar for me…..though if I start doing a lot of rifle shooting, I may come up short on a couple of powders!

Handguns…..I'm good for 2 or 3 lifetimes!

Primers - I wish that I had more. Wish that I'd bought more! memtb

Many moons ago, I always thought if any disaster, war, etc ever happened primers would be the weak link in reloading, shooting and hunting, so even though we already used a lot for various shooting purposes, I began to keep more and more on the shelves. Similar with powders.

Being a military mindset of the old Cold War days, it just carried on in me afterwards, so I kept adding. Something always told me, one day prices would be higher and product scarcer, but then, I have that same mindset with several things. It seemed a bit compulsive then and a little paranoid to my wife, but today, she looks at me a little different.
