I am looking for some suggestions on a deer hunt. We were thinking about Anticosti Island, but it doesn't have to be there anything similar would work. I am hoping to get "one more hunt of a lifetime", with my two sons, in while I can. Anticosti seems to be a place of interest, however perhaps there are other places as good. I am no longer a "spot and stalk" hunter, shooting houses are my current means of hunting. Too many hard orbits (78 times) around the sun for me. When I go my body is going to be donated to the scrap yard and certainly not to medical science. Again this trip will be for me and my two sons. One has never hunted deer ever, the other son is an experienced deer hunter, however I think he would prefer a shooting house as well. We all are long distance shooters, we shoot often and have equipment for it. We live in Rhode Island so that is where we are going to be leaving from. A western hunt is probably going to be too far for us. We "almost" booked a trip to Michigan this past year. The accommodations were good, however sharing a lodge really wasn't what we were looking for; and, it was going to be a fourteen-hour ride. So it didn't happen. Any recommendations or direction would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for any information.
