factory 7mm prc rifle

Well, Federal and Hogdon being owned by the same company is helping keep the Federal ammo running at claimed velocities in the 7 PRC.

For some reason, Hornady has difficulty getting the same access to powder???
When did Hodgdon get sold? I don't think this is accurate!! Federal was owned by Vista outdoors last i knew but I'm pretty sure they were sold and Hodgdon was never owned by Vista. Hodgdon actually bought Ramshot Powder from Vista but…… I don't think Federal and Hodgdon are owned by the same company and have never been owned by the same company.

Tikka just released T3x ACE, including the Game version in 7 PRC. I can't wait to get my hands on one, I have had excellent outcomes with multiple rifles from Tikka, one of which I modified last year with an aftermarket 7mm RPRC barrel, and it shoots exceptionally accurate my handloads of Hornady 175 ELDX, the Berger 175 EH, and (especially) the 195 Berger EOL.

So. The target at lower left is three shots with the turret set at 3.1 the made 1 adjustment to 3.2 and shot the 4 th shot at 200 yards ! Excellent elivation ! Target on the right needed a slight adjustment to the right ! Fired three and made a very nice three shot group! I am completely happy with the very first test at 200 yards ! This is a completely stock factory rifle , which cost 1800 dollars ! I cannot imagine a 5000 dollar custom rifle will shoot much better , in my hands ! The scope was a used ( nearly new ). NF 15x to 55 x Comp scope ! For some one at my level , this level of technology is just fine for me ! When I take it to the Shooting school I will send a report to you all! Don't be ashamed. Of factory rifles ! Some are really pretty good !

Great to see Weatherby Mark V's hitting the mark!

Sirs, I just put my hands on my brand new Ruger Predator 22 bbl in 7 Prc, after some 2 years from ordering in Italy. I did not see any post about it here. After 3 Ranches, all exceptionally accurate, I gave my preference to it, but at the moment I could test With Eldm 180 only H 1000. Good speeds, but extremely high pressure. Unluckily the perfect powder for the combo, Reload Swiss RS 76 is unavailable at the moment. What is your opinion about the rifle ? Thanks !

Looks like you're right, federal and RBCS both used to be owned by Vista, but Federal was sold to CSG and Hodgkin bought RCBS and some other reloading companies.

I had the same pressure in my 7prc so I went to retumbo and I'm getting about the same speed

Thanks, Retumbo is not avaiable here. American powders in the last three years are almost impossible to find; I read some articles about H 1000, and having a half can at home I gave it a chance: I am around 800 m/sec with 180s, to keep pressures safe; my target speed is about 850, which I consider adequate from a 22 bbl, but at 820 started having pressure signs and quit at 840. Vihtavuori are easily avaiable, but Reload Swiss (Ruag Ammotec) Rs 76 should be the right one, see the numbers in Quickload. Waiting for it. Up to now, I tested VV N 170 and RS 80, both slightly too slow in 22.
