Best AR15 Coyote cartridge?

And this is the great part of living where we do, we can all experience different things, form our own opinions, visit with others about them and be able to make informed decisions, and have a variety of things with which to make choices for ourselves.

It's the great part about living where we live now!. Keep letting kids be indoctrinated at school and on social media and we won't have these same freedoms for long!

We shoot a RRA Fred Eicher Coyote with a 20" 1:8 Suppressed shooting .223 65gr SGK. Serious Yote Killer!
I have the same RRA, are you shooting off a tripod if so what style head with this? I have used a saddle its ok but I don't like how the balance is using an arca at the end of the handguard. Seeing if you came up with something else?

Meade ammo makes a "dog gone" 40gr. I assume it's more of a Prarie dog loading.

I have a WOA 7tw SPR barrel that shoots 1" 20 round groups with cheap AAC 77gr OTM. It will broadside a hog pretty good.
I just don't want to mess with that upper by throwing my thermal on there.

Not familiar with 7tw. 7 millimeter I presume?
What is the parent case?

Hey There
They are great rigs made by RRA. I had a new SS 20" Cryo Barrel put on by RRA for free. When I was trying to get off the flash suppressor to put on a real suppressor it would not come off so they put a new barrel on for me. It shoots in the .3s with 65gr SGK.
We use a Vortex Carbon Radian Ball Head with Arca mount and Bog Death Grip. Works Great!

Wow, sad but true I can relate.

Personally I would narrow down the choices to the following.

6mm ARC - Many great bullet choices for near & long range.
223 / 556 - Least expensive factory ammo.
20 practical - Brass supply & pelt damage control.

When ky legalized night hunting with rifles, we were limited to a 6.5 or smaller. I built a 6.5 grendel. Still use it to this day. I have buddies I hunt with who jumped on the hornady bandwagon when the arc came out. I have nothing against it, but I've anchored more coyotes at night with the grendel than they have with the arc. If I was to build another since ky recently took caliber restrictions off, inwould go to ar10 lol. For coyotes the harder hitting the better. Anything listed in this thread will kill one at the end of the day. Some are just more forgiving than others

That's kinda what I'm thinking also.

I haven't shot much of the 50-60gr 223rem stuff but there are a ton of good bullets in that range.

6arc with a 65gr v-max sounds appealing also.

20 practical would reduce recoil somewhat but I don't even know if I have a cleaning rod that will fit down a 204cal bore 🤣
