I'm thinking of building an XP from the ground up starting with the Alpine XP action and am considering going with a left bolt left port setup. I've seen very few rigs set up this way. As a right handed shooter Ive shot rifles set up this way and generally appreciated working the action with my support hand. Why would I not want to set up a pistol this way?

I just had this one completed. Still breaking in but really like the left bolt, left port being right handed. I got my stock through Ernie and Nine Run Gun did the build and fitting.

Thats an awesome rig! Ernie helped enable me into the XP world a couple years back (Thanks Ernie) and Ive been in contact with Nine Run Gun about my plans. Who made your barrel and what's the contour? I want a lighter hunting rig for sure, I'm thinking that a Bartlein 3b (or similar) would be the absolute heaviest I'd want. Did you order a right bolt stock and have it filled like Chris described?

Mine has a Brux 3B, 16.5". The stock was flat top and Michael had inlet/fit. It's a 7 PRC.

I can order one that is top filled...They may use a different term.
3B is a good taper, as would be a 3.
I have a 3B on my 6.5-284 center-grip. Alpine action. Michael did the work on it as well.
Oh, I see just buying the stock without inletting then. That makes sense.

Is that this setup, Ernie?
