30 carbine bolt action

I have been looking for a 30 carbine bolt action for years. And this last week one came up on gunbroker. Unfortunately I got busy at work and got out bid right at the end.
The person that sold it said that he got it 28 years ago.
The action looks like it was a 22 hornet length action (under 2" ejection port) but I have not been able to figure out what action was used.
I asked him if he could take some pictures of the action to help identify it.
It had a 19mm rail and an external 5 round mag.
I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions of what action it was. Or what a person could use?
A cz527 is longer than what I would want to use.
I would also like to build a 5.7 Johnson and a rimless 256 win mag as well

This one?

I may be violating my gunbroker stuff so

Someone please ID this ASAP so I can pull them down.

Yeah, I'm sure one of those from the 6mm Elk thread will report me to GB. Go for it. If it happens, I'll report back and y'all will know that there is a rat. ;)

That little action has Sako written all over it but I am not a true Sako expert so can't help with specifics, maybe a Sako 46 but the cocking piece doesn't look like most of the ones I've seen pictures of. There is obviously some custom work in that rifle so who knows. However, I do have 4 rifles in 5.7 Johnson which I call 22 Spitfire. Use them all for PD shooting with my sons as closer in rifles for 250ish yard max. My rifles are 2 CZ527, a custom Nesika single shot and a Howa Mini. All are used as single shots which would be a little different from trying to run out of a magazine. There is a (ex) saubier.com member from NM that built a little rifle sorta like the one pictured in what he called 22 Spitwad which used a carbine magazine. You might do a little searching around for old saubier postings or look for something on accurateshooter.com. Good luck with your project. I have found the 22 Spitfire superior in every way to the Hornet and Hornet based cartridges and converted all but one Cooper K-Hornet to the Spitfire.

What would you use it for? I've owned an m1 carbine for 35 years and love it--- but it's super hard to find exposed lead nose or hp bullets for reloading for hunting purposes --- its pretty much fmj or plated that's available.

I guess with a bolt action you could load spire point if you single load but a mag fed bolt gun would really limit your oal

I load my M1 carbine with a gas checked Lyman mold 311359 cast bullet made with pure wheel weights. It works great with decent accuracy. I also have some cast bullets for my .32-20 which would probably work.

The sako L46 was the closest thing that I found as well. The scope rail looks different. He also said that it didn't have a safety so it could have a different cocking piece. Maybe from a later model of the L46.

My 22 spitfire is on a m1 carbine. I would enjoy hearing what you are loading yours with. So far I have just been using mine to hunt raccoons.
I used to be on saubier all the time back in the 90's. And then didn't have a computer for a while. Long story short I forgot my login password and tried to set it up again and it wouldn't let me. So I haven't been on for quite some time
