So I wasn't planning on using this cartridge for this bullet because I like the 180 for this size can and the 195 for my 28 Nosler. But I am getting tired of these cartridge debates on YouTube and on channel in particular keeps posting them. So I said screw it, I'll load some up to try and match his 7 rem mag speeds.

So some background on the rifle it's a bergara premier action, triggertech diamond, 26" carbonsix (chambered for the 180 hybrid), in a manners LRH.

I reached 3120 with the 180 with ADG brass and almost 74 grains of n570. I backed it down to about 3050 and it shoots the 180 lights out. Recoil is stout in this light rifle, but it's okay.

So I started at 65 grains and work to 70 of n570 and the 195 seated at 3.425". Reached 3050 with the 195 pretty easy no pressure signs. So that being said the 7 prc and 7 rem mag are the same thing. Just one has a belt and one doesn't. Comes down to component quality to me.

I really think these cartridge debates are stupid and pointless. I think it brings down the quality of rifles and innovation in our hobby and sport. Thanks

Agreed. There are several big name hunting and outdoor industry companies that are constantly re sparking these caliber battle debates on social media. If they're doing interesting things with a cartridge then I'm all for it but mostly it's these entities just spitting out garbage because they've run out of meaningful content. If I see another post by Meateater titled something like 30-06 vs 270 win, or 243 vs 6.5 creedmoor, I'm getting rid of all my first lite clothing. It's mental maturation guys, do better.

I wonder how the 190 LRHT would do out of a 7PRC with a 24"…

I Wonder if it would be effective to scale at closer distances like the 215 is in the 300s.

This one.

while i don't care for and haven't been on the 28cal fan base, i've come to respect them. when i got a 7-08rem ar for a friend i decided there can't be 1! so, i added a 7saum ar for heavier bullets. given i'm dealing with mag restrictions @ 2.860-2.870" i did buy some 195eol's to go with 183smk, 185rdf and 175ablr's (threw in some 175fmj's also). i'm more of a 26cal fan due to shooting a pre64 264wm since i was 11 ('76). what kept me away from the 28cals was a veterinarian that shoved his "my 7rm is better for elk than you 264wm" statements. my 7saum ar has a 28" barrel, so velocity w/195's should get me over 2,800 (hopefully over 2,900). i went with an 8 twist as that's the fastest i could choose, but would've gone with a 7 or 7.5 twist. with a healthy dose of 570 it'll make 2,950ish.

How are the primer pockets after pushing it that hard? My son just bought a 7 PRC and wants to run the 195s. I bought him some ADG brass and as soon as this flu i have gets better I am heading to the range with it and my 28 Nosler to start 195 OCW load development. I have been running 175 bergers in my 28 but want to try the 195s .

I have 3-4 reloads with the 180 and pockets are good. Pockets with the 195 seem fine.

I am definitely not saying that every 7prc can do this. I only did this because I wanted to prove that the 7 prc could match the persons 7mm rem mag rifle. Now that it did I won't be investing anymore time or effort into the 195 load. I am sticking with the 180,

I think I saw the video you are talking about and I still have a hard time believing it. I know components are getting better but pushing a firearm that hard is questionable and I am not sure I believe the video. The PRC is a more efficient case

Having had a 28 Nosler, you've got impressive numbers out of the 7 PRC. A lot more efficient round than the 28.
I have both, and I've never tried N570, but I've never approached those velocities with 162's and 180's in the PRC. That being said I know 570 is hard on barrels and that's part of why I bought the PRC is to get a bit better barrel life so I can shoot it more and hunt with the 28. Ryan Pierce built it, and it is the easiest gun to shoot at distance I've ever squeezed the trigger on.

I couldn't get the velocity until I got to n570. H1000, retumbo, or whatever else couldn't do it.
