I found more of my dad's stuff. This time it's all 243 Winchester. Check it out. I don't have a 243 but I cleaned all the brass with a mixture of corn cob and walnut shells with a little mineral spirits. I may have to get a 243 now.

Those are from the early 1970's. I have everything I need to reload and shoot them except for a 243 rifle. My cousin may sell me his. I have another 100 Sierra bullets someone gave me. I have enough brass and bullets to load about 350 rounds.

Sorry the $4.10 is on the Noslers. But I'd still take them.

That's a perfectly good reason to invest in another firearm.

Rather than think about acquiring a .243, ask yourself what you would do with it? If you don't really have a use for it, rather a lot of use for it, you have far more bullets and brass than you'll use in a lifetime. And after loading a few boxes of ammo, you'll wonder if your rifle would shoot better with a more modern bullet. Then where are you? Left with a bunch of old bullets and buying new bullets to reload. Been there, done that.

Yeah I have been mulling that one over. My cousin has a 243. I may reload them for his rifle. I am also looking at a 7mm-08 to add to my collection of 300WM, 30-06, 270, 308, 35 Remington, muzzleloader and 5 shotguns.

You might even consider selling what you have. I started reloading in 1960, and bought a lot of components from that era. I still have quantities of sierra bullets I bought in those days and have not reloaded. I will very probably not load them, as modern bullets are better. I hang onto them, I guess for sentimental reasons, and perhaps that is your situation a little bit too.

That is one option I am looking at. Depends if my cousin wants to buy powder for me to reload for his 243. I also have a brand new unopened box of Sierra 100gr bullets. It is all depends on my cousin.

My cousin wants to reload for his 243 so they will be put to good use. Now onto what powder will work best out of his rifle.
