Want To Buy BEWARE OF SELLER.

Not to derail this thread, but what other goodies they got there? We need like a panorama 🤣
I bought 300, 30 cal TTSX 130's. Those are normally $42-45 a box per 50. They were older ones from 2012 but Barnes has not changed anything on that bullet, $21 a box. Also bought some new old stock Olin Winchester 308 brass. $22 per 50.

I disagree, you can go off trader history. If a user has none (including you) I'm not giving you anything. If you're an honest contributing member of the community than the honest contributing members know you and generally provide feedback on your trader history. Even of you pay to have privileges it doesn't prove your an honest contributing member of the community. I feel bad for members who have been scammed but we need to be diligent with our efforts on who we send money to. If this isn't proof that money orders are not safer than electronic payments I don't know what it. The re-occuring theme i see is non active members.
Look how long I have been with this forum. Way longer than most. I have been here from the beginning. I used to have a bunch of trader feedback on one of the older versions of this forum. I sold a bunch of guns. And bought a few. But some of the data has not been transferred over during one of the switches.

If you see this forum name of me on any of the gun forums it is me. I have never seen anyone else that has anything close.

Fortunately I haven't been scammed on websites like this (Ive done a lot of deals on Rokslide and AT), but it seems pretty common on these forums. If they don't have much feedback I generally try to look through post history, length of membership, and just generally the language they use. If they don't look legit I'll just move on

I have been buying stuff on here since 2009 and have never been scammed. I have mostly used PayPal Goods and Services and a few US postal money orders. Here lately most sellers insist on Paypal friends and family and get their panties in a wad if you protest in the slightest way. Even tho the powers that be on this site recommend not accepting F&F. Here lately I have caved and used PayPal friends and family a few times and everything worked out ok. Even if your a honest seller and in entend to send my stuff that I payed for with friends & family... **** happens. You may have a stroke or get killed in a car accident on the way to the post office...then I never get my stuff. I will no longer use F&F as recommended by this web site. If it's something I want bad enough I will offer to pay or split the fee for goods and services. To each his own but with PayPal Goods and services you have protection...We all live in a new world.

I think the tax reporting thing is what's driving a lot of people to really want F&F. Goods and Services will trigger a 1099-K. It's been delayed a couple of tax years. Amounts that trigger that appear to be changing (going up). It seems fluid and a new administration is headed into office soon.

Selling something at a loss (used sporting goods) wouldn't normally be a taxable event. And you couldn't claim it as a loss either (reduce taxes).

TBD how much backup (original purchase receipts???) you need to prove you didn't sell at a profit. Or, if you could just attest that you're selling used stuff at a loss and say it's related to a non profitable hobby or 100% personal? Who knows, what will actually happen… In practice vs. big scary IRS rules.

If you are selling at a profit, and it is a profitable side business, you may find ways to write off a lot of expenses related to your side business. Math, taxes, keeping paperwork isn't a whole lot of fun. I get paid to do it and I don't like it. :)

Selling at a loss (likely) + paying shipping + PayPal fees. There probably an incentive to get out of the PP fees and that makes sense. I think for a lot of people it's the tax reporting thing. As a buyer, the "protection"is very nice. But as others have said, the buyer may have none because it's likely pew pew related.

Then if you need to file a claim for the gun related goods & services PayPal gonna deny the protection because gun stuff is against PayPal policy.
