Love the rifle, but scared of the company?? lol

My opinion is stay away from it. I've heard from fellow shooters the problems they had with them and had a hard time sending them back. Plus our club rifle range open to the public before big game rifle seasons and Christensen rifles don't impress for shooting good groups. For my dollars I would go for Seekins,Bergara,or Tikka

The easy solution to me would be to just buy the chassis and buy a different action, trigger and barrel. You get the look without the worry. I take PayPal for my wisdom :p

This is what I was going to recommend.

In my early 20's I saved what limited funds I had and bought a CA in 308win. 14 types of factory ammo and the best groups I managed were about 2". Years later I won a CA in 300wm....headspace was so off that you could almost make 300wby brass in that 300wm chamber.

There are too many good rifle manufacturers out there for me to ever try CA again. I wouldn't buy one!

I'll add I did my own break in process for the barrel. It was essentially load up 50 rounds of junk grand slams into brand new ADG brass. I went I went to the range with the buddies for a number of hours and shot through the 50 rounds. It didn't shoot great, and I didn't expect it to. Once I had my brass somewhat fireformed, I started load development with 168 VLDs. It was very fast load development to get half MOAish. Never looked back; stuck with the load. I'm now drilling rocks from over 1000 yards with this rifle and took two animals with is this year. It's a keeper. The main point, screw their silly break in process...

Oh and I haven't cleaned it either.

Ok, for some weird reason while at my local gun store today a made the mistake of picking up a Christensen Arms MCR. WOW!!! The fit was just great and it felt perfect to me!! To top it off it was in 7 PRC which is the caliber I would want it chambered in as well. I am pretty tempted to take a chance on it, but dang.....I have read a lot of bad about the accuracy and customer service. Seems like you either get a really good shooter or a less than acceptable shooter with them. What a shame to find a rifle I like so much and actually be scared to try it out.
So, if you were in this situation, would you take a chance, or would you give it a pass and keep on moving? lol
It fit me
I would give it a pass and move on . They need to work on their image and quality controls .

I basically did the same thing.
Mine is a shooter !

PROUD owner of an ELR in 6.5 PRC. It shoots lights out and is my main deer rifle. Typical 5 shot cold bore group outta mine, I'm satisfied!!

I have a CA Ridgeline in 300WM that I have been happy with, it does shoot sub minute.

Now, it was dropped off still in the box to be re-bedded and checked over before load development started.

Soon it's going to be dropped off to swap the stock to a Manners Pro Hunter and the trigger swapped to a TT Special while it's there. Will that improve the accuracy? Not a clue, but it shouldn't hurt it. I like the larger palm swell of the Pro Hunter, and who doesn't like a 1lb trigger!

Personally I would give it a pass. Worked at a big sporting goods store selling firearms for quite a few years. The Christiansen's seemed to have issues and many ended up being traded in after a short period of time. You already addressed the issues, so why take a chance?

I also sampled a CA in 7 mag, on sale. Felt great, looked great, but I stayed away based on the reviews. I have been on the wrong side of a crap shoot too many times to gamble on one any more.

I liken it to three cars which different friends owned, one had a Fiat Spider (in our 20's), another a Jaguar XJS (late 30's), and the third a Land Rover LR8 (50). All three were wonderful cars to drive when they worked right. The rest of the time they were being worked on because they were hopeless ***'s. The friend with the Land Rover spent more money servicing the car than he paid for it.
