300 Magnum Muzzle brakes

I would agree that each brake may yield different results. I would also venture to say that different caliber and/or load changes would also cause different results that could only be quantified by testing. Example: 300 win mag vs 6.5 creed or h1000 vs h4350…etc.
Something has to remain a constant variable. MDT load charge and cartridge were the same. MDT used their line of MBs with different number of ports to find out their point of diminishing return (goal). The 4-port outperformed the 5-port.

Nathan also used the same load charge and cartridge but used his own MBs with varying design and number of ports vs. competitor's MBs to test recoil reduction (goal). They have different goals.

However, in Nathan's test (1st two MBs) the 5-port beast brake outperformed the 4-port beast brake, unlike the MDT"s test result.

I deal with this daily.

We make our 1 and 2 port brakes with a different port design. Its extremely effective, but makes the brakes have a longer OAL. Our 3 4 and 5 port brakes have a different port design to keep them at a minimum length and weight but perform extremely well.

The 2 port .990" brake has almost exactly the same performance when tested our 3 port .990" brake. This is because the shape, and surface area of the 2 port designs. The two are almost equal because of this.

People constantly ask "how much recoil will it reduce?" Anyone who tries to give you an exact number doesn't know enough. I can guess, and get close. But its dependent on rifle weight, cartridge, bullet, stock shape, chassis or carbon stock, powder type and charge, and I'm sure I'm missing some.

I could talk about it more in depth but we are moving our entire shop around in order to get a new machine in here!

I watched several YouTube videos and decided on the APA Gen 3 fat bastard five-port brake for $150.
I have one on one of my 300RUMS and works well.
Terminator T3 and T4 are on the other 2.
Terminator T4 on my 30-378. IMO the
Terminators are the best, but they do direct the blast closer to the shooter. 🎅
