32-20 parent cases and dies

I got to wonder when I (safely) fire form a case at +p in a modern strong rifle 32-20

The brass clearly forms

Then I stick it through an RCBS die and it Looks completely different.......am I working my brass wayyyy to much???

I don't up even have to measure and can see clear profile differences between what my chamber produces and what my dies produce

Do you send a fire formed brass out to reputable custom die co. and get a die reverse engineered and stop messing around????

Or do you fire form, then start neck sizing only since they are going to always go back into same rifle

Seems resizing a 32-20 sends a neck bulge down into the shoulder area

Lots of times I see the case looks like it has a radiused shoulder....

Whereas fire formed is distinctive angled shoulder

face of die is touching shell plate so I can't come down any further

Its something to to w die not going far enough down, or sizing neck too small and pushing bulge down as it sizes

0.313" fired,

0.313" cast, 0.312" jacketed

Sizes down to 0.306"

Wayyyy too much IMO, I'd like to see 0.309"-0.310"

This was quick measuring with calipers which is not too accurate but for rough numbers yes

44-40 is the same deal, what a loaded round looks like compared to fired is completely different, your 32-20 is identical in that design.
That's how things were done back in the 1800's.

I use Lee dies to resize .32-20 and find they resize the necks too small for a .310" lead bullet.

Otoh, the .32-20 is not a bench rest cartridge.

It is a very thin case so neck size is probably all you need. There are some 32-20 with a 308 bore. Sounds like your sizer would work for that. You could get a mandrel and open it up some after sizing. Cheaper than a new custom die.
