I fully understand the need for anti-seize on muzzle threads when installing a suppressor on a rifle. What I am unclear about is whether anti-seize is needed on the threads of the cap of my SilencerCentral Banish 30 suppressor?

I've used copper, nickel, Moly-Kote G-4700 grease, both blue and red high pressure wheel bearing grease and high pressure grease used on lathe and grinding centers. Never had a problem with any of them. The secret is to make sure everything is coated with a layer with no voids. Any squeeze out can be wiped off. Once it is disassembled, add more for reassembly.

Thread sealant and anti seize are two different things. Thread sealant is to prevent ieakage like in plumbing situations, anti seize is to prevent the threads from cold welding.
Yeah, I understand and should have been a bit more concise. They recommend NOTHING on the threads. They said any stuff added to the threads collects carbon residue and etc.

For the past 45 years I have been using a Unique X51 Bis semi auto 22 that was factory threaded. Every time I put the rifle back in the safe I remover the suppressor and wipe the barrel and thread down with an oily rag before fitting the steel tread protector.
Also I have several other rim-fire and center fire rifles with threaded muzzles and I do the same procedure with them each time I clean them.
At no time have I had a thread protector that I can't undo with my hand.

So in my own personal experience with suppressors, 90% of the time I have never run into an issue with them not coming apart. It does happen and when it does not unthread from your barrel, or when they don't come apart for cleaning purposes, you will not be a very happy individual. So due to some unfortunate circumstances, I believe in preventing issues down the road. So yes I use anti seize on all suppressor threads. It only takes a very minor amount to save you a head ache of pulling a barrel and cutting the thread adaptor off a barrel, and ordering a new one. Or not being able to take your suppressor apart due to excessive heat, or rust. I also use it on every muzzle break I put on a rifle. In the long run it's worth an every drop. Just my opinion.
