Does anyone have any info on the 62gr VT in 22-250. Have a 1-8 20" and was going to start loading for coyotes. There isn't a ton out there in books because of how new it is and hornady said to "load them like the 75gr eldm" I was thinking of using Varget and 6.5 staball to start but I also have h380, cfe 223.
With an OAL 2.49 I need to make sure it even fits in the savage mags

Any info or suggestions would be great!

Have never been a fan of H380 and cfe223 seems a little on the fast side for that weight bullet.
Staball6.5 works well in one of my 22-250s with the 65 grain Sierra spbt.
Varget also works well in my rifles, but I haven't used it for bullets above 55 grains.

Ok thank you. I'm going to try some Staball 4350 and some superperformance. I know the Super is temp sensitive but this will be for my winter spring calling coyote gun so I think it may be worth trying. It's a short barrel I got used so I'm hoping to get it to at least 3500 ideally. Thanks again for the input!

Not quite what you're asking but…..

I played with them in a 223 with various powders and searing depths and I have shotguns that pattern better…. And then I found the one combo of charge and depth and wowza's 4 shots under a nickel at 100yd.(good shooting for me)

Seems the faster they went the worse the group. I think about 3125 is where I called it quits.

My setup is a 20" 7tw @ 2850

This is good info thank you I have a 1/8 223 I was going to try also. I'm going to just load some up in the 250 with 3 powders and then chrono them see what powder I get the best speed in then I'll start tinkering. Thanks for the info on the seating depth tinkering that will give me something to try. Were you sending them in or touching what was your experience just curious? I'm not sure if it was sure but I've seen similar "shotgun blast" comments in my research. It's just really limited info right now online

I tried Superformance on my 22 Creed. Speeds were good but SDs were terrible. Actually, far worse than any other powder.
Ok thanks for the heads up. Never messed with it so I'll keep an eye out for that. I was reading there is a sweet spot with these and performance so 3500fps is my goal I have a bunch of powder I can try but never used any of the super. How do you like your 22CM?

Not sure what you're saying here👇 .. maybe spell check gotcha 😁

I don't have my notes in front of me about distance to lans, but my COAL is 2.335 and my BTO is 1.800.

Hopefully that may get you started with your 223

They are kinda sexy little pills

I like the 22 Creed but it really does nothing better than cartridges that I've shot for many years like the 22-243 and 22-243AI. I used Lapua 243 brass for those cartridges and had very good results. The 22-243AI would push a 75gr A-Max bullet to 3,670fps with unbelievable accuracy. My best group was shot at 600yds and came in @ .625".

The 22-243AI was devasting on fat PA groundhogs taken at extended ranges.

In the 22 Creed, I'm shooting (mostly) the Berger 85.5 at 3,200-3,300fps from a 26" Bartlein 7.5 twist. I've found the Berger 80.5 FullBore to be very easy to find accuracy with. RE17 produced the tightest groups.

I d put them closer to the lands than farther to start assuming you ve got magazine length. I ran them at similar oal to my 75 Eldm loads and had good accuracy in both 223 and 22-250 AI.
