33 Nosler testing

Building one out of a weatherby 300 stainless action with the help/input from IDT. Now the wait for the c6 barrel. Went with 3.6 coal for the 270 eldx.

After my 250 berger eh on-game experience this year I'm probably going to go back to a lighter weight mono and give that a go on game. I was pretty disappointed with the on-side destruction on everything I shot. Did it kill them... definitely. The insides were pretty messed up but everything I shot had massive damage on the shot side facing me and no exits. I also put a deadair 33 nomax in jail yesterday so I'll be wanting to drop bullet weight regardless to drop recoil some. Guessing ill be working with the 225 mcguire or 225 cutting edge maximus for next fall.

That 210 & 220 gr Hammer HHT fits the same freebore as a 250 EH well and great speeds. The 225 McGuire is pretty devastating if you're concerned about meat loss though.

Mostly want to see more internal damage and faster stopping power. Just personal preference but I wasn't impressed with the 250 berger eh. I thought, with the elk especially, that it would have held together a little better and had more internal damage than on-side damage before it came apart. I wish there was a 250 grain hornady eld-m! I don't really want to shoot the eld x.

230 ELDX or 225 Accubonds potentially?

I was underwhelmed with the 250 EH too..it shot great but was very frangible.

I really like the 230 ELD, 225 CEB, I would love to try some of those 220 hammers...

I have some of the 260 ceb maximus but I feel that's a little to big for my goals now with the suppressor coming into play and overall capacity of the case. I'll get some 225 mcguire and maximus to play with. I shot the 250 mcguire before but think the 225 will be what I want now.

Try the 210hht Hammer, I had good results with it in a brown bear last April! 3462 fps out of a 338 RUM. It did all the damage and penetration that I needed for a 9'8" boar @ 178 yards. If you need any 33 nosler brass I have a lot of it.

Another bullet to try is the 200 gr Apex Afterburner. The 210 HHT shoots very good out of my 338 RUM. But in my rifle the advertised BC was way off. The 210 HHT killed my bull elk nicely and had basically zero blood shot meat. This was a nice change from the 215 Berger.
