Gang,
Posting for tips or pet loads for the above. I see some starting load suggestions on the Hammer site and will try some RL-15 and Rs Big Game which works well under light pills in my 300 SAUM. Thought it prudent to check here considering the cost of components these days. Im leaning towards using Mag. primers with the Rs-BG. Has anyone tried RL-16 under anything lighter than 150s ?
Any help greatly appreciated.

While it will work, think RL-15 is not the best choice for the 284 Win.

I use Fed 210 primers. Mag primers would work and couldn't hurt if you hunt in very cold weather but think better accuracy can be obtained with non mag primers.

I used H4350 for decades for bullets from 110 gr-168 gr. When RL-17 came along I switched. Some of the highest velocities can be obtained with RL-17. I currently use 17 with 120 Nosler ballistic tips and the 168 Berger VLD.

Many competitors use H4831 with 180 gr bullets. IMO It is too slow for light bullets.

Thanks, yeah only considering the mag primers with the Ramshot Big game since it is spherical. I have read that Rl-17 is hard on throats but no more than I shoot this rifle it should be fine. I have used it for 150s and it did well.
