Gday
I thought this maybe a better way to get information together 🤷‍♂️

really this information wouldn't have come around without my home forum & mates overthere of asking questions on this vrs that pill vrs this & that brand
& before long a list of pills were worked out of let's see how they compare to our beloved hammers

So some pills were sent to me others I purchased & the scene was set all I needed was time , enough critters & my health to hold up 🤞
well the middle one of them was certain 😇😜🤪

I started fairly slow but quickly relised this was harder than I remembered it use to be & asked for help with some close mates & a young fella & young girl that I've been mentoring in what to look for in the good & bad points of various pills in autopsies ( terminal results)
So without these people it just wouldn't have occurred & I've got 2 testing sessions left in me if all goes well in my life 🤞& I'll be extremely happy if I can finish them this line of testing is not fully done as due to as I went other things were found out & my mind goes hmmm what if but I can't keep going forever & accept that my data collection will basically be incomplete 😥but is what it is

The other one who helped out a huge amount on sifting through my data sheets taken in the field for which we had countless ph calls & messages to put in a easy format for people to make more sense was @GLTaylor & a huge thanks must go to him so a big shout out needs to go to him

I'll attach pics of some of the sheets & the better samples of these for the work done on the bovines but if that doesn't work I'll need help again to attach the file GL

the results to me were extremely interesting & I had to eat crow as the results showed my flaws on thinking & results showed the way forward

Now I classify a eldm as a good frangible & had huge amount of success with the old equivalent amax for many years & many thousands of critters ( had some train wrecks as I have with every brand yes for you guys who think I'm hammer bias yes them to )
Now for those that say Berger are better frangible these tests don't include them & no one requested them so no data on them sorry but only so much I could do anyway & id culled one early ( badlands ) & replaced with McGuire @ request of a nice bloke on discussion we had & seems like a good idea now nrailer has passed ( rip ) but hopefully someone gets that company up & running for those that like those type of pills but McGuire has fitted in nicely for those who like that style pill with a few benefits from the badlands gen 1 I tested years before

Anyway

These tests were designed to find limits of pills so please understand that & not get one's knickers in a knot as yes I understand not everyone will see these results due to impact velocities & the resistance encountered on that shot so please understand that I just enjoy finding limits on things & weaknesses

Yes I'm still from when all goes wrong not right & some poor bugger will get these I guarantee & that's my reference of a bingo raffle I make as eventually your number will come out

These tests were just clear my head & take ea pill on its merits & just shoot & see /record

I'm not liked by companies that's for sure but I just hope that they can look @ the data & move forward & see where the best of these results occurred & try to move forward in designing a better pill
Yes still my goal to move the bar

Now also for those that know I tinker with pills & the mates in the us that I rub shoulders with also do have found above these results that tweaking a pill is not that hard the hard part is getting a company to see it & I'll delve a little into that also & tag the relivent company/ s & if they take that on board or knot will solely upto them but this is not just hogwash it's been fairly well documented but if like other threads I've tagged them in a longtime ago on others knowledge not mine & they choose to go silent that's cool & I'll not waste my time perusing that side & move on

Now once again I am not a guru or know everything but the information is what it was so take it as one wishes but please let's keep the gutter talk out of things as no need for that & I hope this place has somewhat settled since I was last here & those last 6 months have really showed me I don't need that stuff in my life so expect push back that's on me personally but by all means let's discuss different opinions on where this data is not stepping upto the plate & im all in yes pull my results apart but get personal or label me that's not called for so a line in the sand I am trying to make it clear 🤞yes me being clear 🤣🤪yes my writing skills are totally crap so apologies for that

Anyway i think that's a good start 🤷‍♂️& I'll get my stuff together & post what I have on this 6.5 data as time permits

So stay tuned

Cheers

Gday here's some data charts
pore through them some interesting stuff imo

Excellent charts! I'm seeing something there I thought would be the results you got, but wasn't sure if it would hold true.

The Apex afterburners had very good low velocity performance. That's encouraging. I won't be shooting at the long distances where they've dropped to 1800 fps. But if the open at 1800, they should blast open at 2400-3200 where I'll be at. Maybe expand too fast at high speed? Still, they are a mono and the bullet shank should penetrate a long way.

Apex outperformed Hammer at 1800 fps. The Apex were more likely to shed petals and caused more damage to the second, offside, lung.

My other takeaway is that the monos that hold together, like Barnes, don't perform well at 1800 fps. Not that unexpected.

Am I interpreting this correctly?

1 - faster time to animal expiration
3 - slower?
Gday leaf litter
Yes correct
I had a spotter doing those times in seconds on those data sheets so they were fairly accurate
Actual times were recorded I just broke down to somewhat simplify & had a vast learning experience on my home forum of what some of you guys use a indicator of tip time for which is different to my process but I accept that & today I'm not as hard on that as I once was but DG I'll not ease up on that as as quickly as possible gives less chances of being bitten or stomped

Some other times I collected on this cull & other situations my time was if not on video or drone was upto me going one a cat&dog 2 a cat&dog etc so that is not very accurate especially once I was upto 20 seconds as then I'm out of fingers 🤣🤣

Cheers

Gday fruit nut
Yes the apex was the best preformed pill no doubt & consistenly does it to 1700 on the few I did there but your also correct in accessing where it suits one's own impact ranges & for that it done well in other areas but the best it wasn't

Guess you can't have your cake & eat it 😜
Well I'm gready & I want it all 🤣just not possible from what I've seen but some have wider windows than others it's where those windows fit for the individual that counts
Cheers

Gday beeman
Thanks needs to go to GL for those charts
Please elaborate on seeing
Cheers
Basically your results with the Apex is what I was referring too. Not sure how they do at high impact velocity. But from what I am seeing they do ok at high velocity impacts. As with other bullets I'm sure not all apex perform excellent at high and low velocity impacts. I do see on the apex site they do list impact velocities on some bullets, which is nice to see.

This data is excellent, cheers to you and the people who helped collect it.
