I am even farther away, so I am not much help. (And a week after the initial post this might be moot anyway). But I will offer this: it is worth measuring to make sure that gauge is correct. I specifically ended up with a PT&G 30-06 go gauge that was too short. It would have been a royal PITA if I had been headpsacing off of it, but fortunately I was using it as no-go for an Ackley chamber. Eventually it was made right, and I now Ronald Reagan any new gauges I buy.
Best wishes on your project!
