This is a real long shot, but does anyone know of a smith or company that makes custom bottom metal? There isn't anything out there for the Nosler so I need something made. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I've wanted to but don't have a Howa or Vanguard available to me currently. I've heard the same thing, but also saw online where Nosler said it wouldn't work.

Wrong, they are the same, with minor tweaks to the action threads, bolt release etc. bottom metal shoul be the same length. Look at ptg DBM for a longer length box setup

Well this turned out to be a really expensive lesson learned. The Howa long action is absolutely NOT the same length as the Nosler M48 long action. The difference in length is about 3/16". I'm pretty deep into this bottoms metal so hopefully my expensive lesson may benefit other folks in the future.

Hey! Looking to do the same thing here! I have a Model 48 Nosler Custom Rifle with dropplate. Looking to find a solution for a detachable box magazine. Spent the last few days hunting northern maine in 16" of snow with my brother from the truck and everyone getting in and out having to use that stupid dropplate was a killer. Also, if you happen upon a road deer, it's nice to have a magazine with follow up shots ready. Any ideas or solutions found? I have a 280 AI.

I'm guessing he would say no, but it never hurts to ask. You could reach out to Chad at Long Rifles Inc. and see if he would be interested.

A few years back he made his own version of the Remington DBM which he sells on his website. It seemed like he was pretty active on FB for awhile showing odds and ends he was making on his 5 axis machine.

Prototyping work is never cheap, if you had a half dozen or maybe a dozen folks willing to commit to it maybe that would influence someone. Maybe there is an untapped market out there for it…? Who knows.

I never found anything at all for it. I ended up sticking with my factory bottoms metal I know for sure I'd be interested in something if it ever came out!
