Looking for some help in recommending an outfitter for an Aoudad rifle hunt. Also, I need to know what caliber would be minimum for these animals.
Thanks for the info. I'm in great shape and wouldn't mind hiking for them if required. I wasn't sure if there was a normal hunting procedure. (ie) Safari style or backpack. I have a 30-06 and a 6.5 creed. I shoot the 6.5 better at longer distances.I've killed a few with my 6.5 creedmoor.
My father had killed 30-40 with his. Pick a good bullet that hold together and send it.
I've killed a few with my 6.5 Grendel also running 97gr hammers. As for guides depends on what type of hunt you want. Backpack safari style? Many options from hill country to west Texas
Thanks for the info. Now I'll look more serious into getting the 300 PRC that I have been wanting.Your 30-06 would be great out of the guns you own but it'd be a great exuse to get a long range magnum. Shots are 100-400 yds typically and can be across windy canyons. I ranch in west Texas and have aoudad on here, they are tough animals and we have a 270 or bigger rule. Aoudad shooter 1975 mentioned some great outfitters, some others are also bubba Glosson, Tye Vick, wildlife systems.
Never a bad idea to get another rifle. That being said I think the point made about tough bullet and shot placement is more the key. The biggest ones I've ever killed have been with a 6.5 creedmore. Thanks for the info. Now I'll look more serious into getting the 300 PRC that I have been wanting.
