Tumbling Recipe?

Not in a rotary tumbler but in a vibratory tumbler I use a small amount of FLITZ Media Additive and it comes out very clean and bright.
Just be sure to use a small amount and put it in before you put cases in and let rum for at least 3 minutes to get it worked into to media.
As mentioned I have also used car polish as well.
I am not as concerned about getting the carbon out of the neck as I started using Imperial Dry Neck Lube I learned about on this forum and get good equal release of bullet.
This forum is a great place to learn things as there are so many that have "been there done that"!

I deprime, SS tumbling media, 2 squirts of dawn, 9mm case of Lemishine. Tumble for 2 hours, and a 9mm Lemishine on final rinse. I put them on a towel with small fan blowing down the necks overnight in garage. I live in south Florida so the garage is usually hot. I expand with mandrel so I use Neolube #2 in the necks for expanding and bullet seating without bullet welding

Wet tumbling OF ANY TYPE will not give you shiny brass. Tumble it in walnut media or corn cob media for an hour or so after you wet tumble (and dry, of course) and you will get shiny brass.

After the dry tumbling you will be able to see the damage to the brass necks that is done by wet tumbling. (Couldn't help throwing that in).

With all due respect, that is a totally incorrect claim. With proper cleaning agents and enough time in the SS pin tumbler, brass will come out very shiny. Actually, they will look better than new.

Is there any damage done to the necks from the steel pins? I've been concerned about this in the vibratory cleaner with crushed walnut shells. I've never been able to find any evidence but, it sure does make me wonder.

Case mouths can get micro-dings (I made that up 🤣 ) on the case mouths if left in a pin tumbler for too long. I originally let cases spin for 2 hrs but have since realized that 30min is all that's necessary. If you leave them in longer, for whatever reason, just chamfer and debur the case mouths as a precaution.
Vibratory machines and walnut shells, or any other media, is highly unlikely to adversely affect your case mouths.

I use a mixture of corn and walnut (or whatever I can get cheap from the pet store really), couple squirts of flitz in a vibratory for several hours. Works like a dream for me. I'll go overnight sometimes just depends in what I'm feeling.

I should have also mentioned that I was referring to wet tumbling WITHOUT PINS. With pins the brass comes out looking great. Without it has a dull finish.

You have a picture of the polish you use?
