Magpro Powder

Thats a nice target 338 dude, pretty sure I'd just stay with your combination of H1000 and the 185 juggs! Be hard to improve on that much more!

I too am curious about the stability, and will test it. However I'm not too afraid to add or subtract a few tenths of powder to maintain a desired velocity or node. But in order to do that, you got to know your loads and test them!
 
I use it in 6.5 PRC 150 ABLR and have a great results with it I have killed two elk over 650 and have dropped in their tracks love it
 
Used it extensively in 300 WSM, great accuracy, velocity and easy to find. Do your load development at or near High temps you will be shooting it at. It is temp sensitive so dont let your ammo sit in hot car, you may get some heavy bolt lifts

Isn't Magpro 1.01 fps per degree, as far as temp stability. Thats not great. I always heard it was fast but was temp sensitive, so I never tried it. One here says it is, one says no, what is it?
As mentioned above, I stopped worrying about temperature sensitivity for a long time. I used to be a strictly Hodgdon Extreme powder user. I still use them, but I conduct my load development and consider the environment in the hunt area. As with anything else, YMMV.

Yeah well when I go to WY, or even here in VA temps can very 40 degrees in a day, or during a day. So I don't screw around with powders that are not temp stable, just to get 20 to 50 fps. If it's not RL16, H1000, H4831sc, or H4350 I don't use it in my Hunting rifles. But that's me, to each his own. RL26 is another 1 fps per degree powder. Found that out in my 7mag. Got load right for WY, week before I leave I check it and it lost 30 fps from 80 to 50 degrees. So I scrambled and got a H1000 load that was 50-60 fps slower but 10x less temp sensitive. And it was slightly better moa and ES wise as well. H powders are the way to go imo. But RL16 is great too and not hateful at .3 ish fps per degree, for intermediate range loads.

That's why Bryan Litz clearly noted to make sure to factor the environment of your load development and where you are going to shoot it at ~2:20 minute mark.

I ran one of my loads - 215 Berger at 2850 FPS out my .300 WSM using the average altitude from where you @ ~1000' and Belle Fouche River (lowest altitude in WY) @ ~3100' and below is what I got.

1000' @ 80 F; @1000Y = 1749 FPS/-262.92" drop

3100' @ 50 F; @1000Y = 1785 FPS/-258.64" drop

I am showing a gain of 36 FPS gain at a 1000Y.

Beginning stages of load development in a 300WM with 185 Juggs looked really promising. However now saving the 185's for my F-Class 308 and will next try 208's and 215's in the 300 w-magnum. Will post initial results soon.
Hopes are HIGH !!

I've been forced to switch to MagPro for my 300WinMag. I used to use Reloader 26 and it was a stand alone in all categories. Once I ran out of the 3lbs I bought, could never find it again post 2020. (If I could find it, it was going for a 300% markup.) Anywho, after some research, I learned that the burn time for MagPro is very close to the Reloader 26 burn rate. So I gave it a shot. In my gun, I worked up a MagPro load and eventually got very close to the RL26 formula I used for years. The results were very, very similar between the 2 powders. All in all, I'm very happy with the MagPro performance. I think I lost 50' per second avg with very little variation shot to shot. Haven't shot the MagPro over 500yds yet but I need to. The bullet drop between the 2 powders was a half moa difference. I'm ok with this. The 300wm loaded to 77gns of MagPro, Lapua brass, Winchester WLRM primer, 178gn Hornady ELD-X @ 3,050. I am very happy with the MagPro. It has exceeded my expectations with being so comparable to RL26.
Shooting 215's with magpro in my winmag. 77.0gr I believe. Could be 76, but I think it's 77. Norma brass, 215m, seated at 3.650" runs right at 2,900 from a 26" bartlein.

I've never been able to get it into single digit sd's though. 11-13 is about the best I've seen. Es in the 30's. Consistent hits on 12x20 steel out to the 1,000 yard mark though.

Haven't shot 7828 in this barrel but in my last one it was not uncommon to see sd in the 2-5 range.

H1k in this barrel has done good but I'm out of it now and I'm sitting on 7lbs or so of magpro.

Litz is smart, Applied Ballistics is pretty spot on and corrects for environment perfectly. I've checked my dope at ~ 8000' 40Ā° in WY after load development at 675' 50Ā° in WV and it was dead on, at 475 yards with a FV 25 mph cross wind.
