22" 7RM with 160 accubond suppressed (7") is 2975 and that is a fairly easy load and easy to carry.

Do it! Don't be scared about loosing velocity. Everyone saying you'll turn it into a different cartridge just aren't comparing apples to apples. You'll have a much shorter barrel and that's what YOU want. I chopped my 300 prc barrel to 20 and don't regret it at all.
