How do you like the maker 160s? What caliber? I was looking at those for my fast twist .270 Winchester.
It looks like I'll have to build a 270wsm!We will start on a heavier high BC .277 bullets through the winter. Waiting on components to begin. We are open to input. This will be roughly the bullet we start with.
.277 Dia
1.600 Length
150ish Grain weight
You should start a thread about that bullet or other heavy 270 bullets if you want to discuss it. This thread was started by McGuire Ballistics (a site sponsor) to discuss their new bullet coming out.How do you like the maker 160s? What caliber? Roughly, yes.Is that a 150 or…..?
What do you consider hyper velocities?Has anyone pushed these Bullets in the hyper velocities to see if the shank will stay together?
3800 plusWhat do you consider hyper velocities?
No sir, not that I am aware of. 3700FPS out of a 28 Nosler with 143s is the upper end of what I have heard. We have shot animals at point blank with quite a few of our projectiles and back of bullet always stays together. Almost everything we run is north of 3k but not 3800FPS.3800 plus
277 fury with 20 inch barrel is amazing, love mine.a fast twist 277-308 or 277 fury would be interesting depending on minimum velocity for expansion. too bad I retired my 270-338rum imp.
