Do you hunt from home?

I'm a PA hunter. I can shoot Deer, Turkey, and Bear in my back yard. If I go to my buddies farm for deer/social season, it's 15-20 minutes. If I would ever get drawn for one of our Elk tags, I'll have to drive an hour. Im having some health problems right now, once we get that figured out I hope to do an Alaska trip while I still can. I can't complain, it's great hunting here and I hunt all private property. Most of the Elk are taken on State Game Lands. We are truly blessed with State lands here that are managed for game instead of profit.

I'm fortunate to live on 18 acres with multiple pastures. I turned one of them into a clover plot, and it has been a true joy take my kids hunting in our own backyard.

I shot an 8 pointer off my back porch 2 years ago while wearing gym shorts and a tee shirt on a warm November afternoon. Who needs camo???

I can see the day when the only way you can hunt is by owning land.

Well I got home this morning after working night shift and this guy walked up the driveway🤷🏻‍♂️ kid shot him off the porch. !!!

Congrats on the deer and for your son shooting him from the porch!

I can only hope, to be "acceptable" here at LRH …..he was at least 1000 yards from your porch! 😜 memtb
Well not exactly. More like 70 but also only about 50 from greenhouse he's hanging in now!!! I'm sure by the time he tells his friends it will be a lot farther. We may have to wait for next year before it's a 1000 though

Anyway we were wondering how many folks get to hunt from the house anymore?
Yep…been "hunting" from my backyard for over a decade now. Have a feeder set up @ 200 yards from my back door. I lay a shooting mat down in the yard behind a small camouflaged blind (with a hole cut in it to allow barrel/scope clearance) and I'll lay there and wait on 'em. Sometimes I'm REALLY lazy and just watch from inside the house until I see something I like and then I'll have to slip outside without being seen and "low crawl" to the blind/shooting mat. 🤣

Hmmmm, sounds like you need a dormer window addition in your attic, purely for proper ventilation and aesthetic purposes of course!
