I have a Remington 700 with a 7mm rem mag 1:9 twist Mcgowen barrel.
Years ago I played around with either the ELDX or accubond long range and it shot horrible. I switched to 150 Accubonds and the thing shoots lights out.
Recently I been considering the 175 partitions. Basically this has been I deer gun for years and want to retire it just for elk hunting. I'd like a heavier bullet to shoot out of it. Max distance would be around that 450 range.

Partitions are not overly long, so your 9" twist will have no problem shooting them.
The weight is not the issue here, it's the length that must be calculated.

I run up to 175's in my 9.25" twist 7STW, but the ABLR is pushing that twist, so I run 168g ABLR. New barrel will have 8" twist, but I have 2 9.25" take off barrels currently.

You could try the Accubond in 160g too.

Cheers

Yes that's what I noticed about the partitions was the length. I'll tinker with some load development on the partitions and see what I come up with. Thanks

The 175 partition has been great in my 7RM. Both for accuracy and performance on elk and deer. Mine has a 1:9.5 twist

Nice.
Hopefully they come back in stock .
I definitely want to try them.
So far the 150 Accubonds have been great medicine on deer and Pronghorn.
I been playing around with a Weatherby Talon 270 for deer and pronghorn so I can get my 7mm setup strictly for elk.
I got it dialed in. Took a bit of playing around but it's good now.

I have a 7RM with a 9 twist Brux barrel originally the plan was to shoot 162 ELDX, could not find the accuracy I was looking for. After some head scratching I stumbled upon 175 ELDX and that is what it likes in front of RL25. A 9 twist appears to be more than capable.
