Anyone had any recent dealings with Oregon Mountain Rifle Company recently? Especially as it pertains to their prefit barrels? I had heard some hit or miss things but that was 3-4 years ago. I think they have changed owners and location, considering they are located in Montana, but are called Oregon Mountain Rifles. I was looking to get a Curtis Axiom prefit, maybe even get my action cerekoted. Any first hand experience on lead time? Quality? Where do they get their blanks from? Do they wrap their barrels themselves. Obvoiusly some of these questions can be answered by them, but I like to hear honest customer feedback. I am not waiting another 10 months for a prefit from C6. Any insight is appreciated.

Look at the similar threads below.

I Have have had over 20 OMR barrels/ remage/ prefits, its the same owner he just moved out of Oregon. lee is amazing There is hit and miss threads about every barrel/ action maker out there. But Lee is a solid dude and his barrels flat out shoot with all the other companys..
Thank you for your input. I didn't end up using them on a recent build with a curtis action, but I will try them out on a R700 LA or a ruger american I have begging for some attention.

I was flying out of Billings Montana the first week of October and we decided to kill some time before our flight. We stopped by Oregon Mountain Rifle company unannounced. I had never heard of them before.

There was one young gentleman working in the shop. Everyone else was gone for the week. He graciously took us on a tour of their whole shop and answered all our questions. I was impressed with their equipment CNC, lathe and cerakote booth. I didn't expect them to hold tolerances as tight as he said they could with the equipment. (one ten thousandth of an inch) He even showed us how they make their carbon fiber barrels. It's a wrap and bake process.

If I was interested in buying a rifle or components like the ones they build, I wouldn't hesitate to use them. Seemed like decent people work there and their equipment and processes were impressive and the shop was clean and looked well organized. Hope this info helps.
